Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Gobbl ("we," "the App") collects, how it's used, and your choices regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide (username, profile photo, etc.), including through Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple.

Meal data: When you log a meal, we store the meal details you enter, including photos you upload and the location you tag.

Location data: When you tag a location for a meal, we use Google Places API to look up and store the place (name, address, place ID, and coordinates) associated with that meal.

Social data: If you use social features, we store your posts, comments, likes, votes, friend connections, blocks, and any reports you submit.

Photos: Photos you upload are stored securely and associated with your account. When you log a meal, the photo is also sent to our AI provider (see Section 3) to automatically identify the food, cuisine, and emoji shown on your log.

Home location (optional): You may optionally save a home location so that meals eaten at home appear on your Day Trail. Your exact home location is never shown to other users — friends only see a generic "Home" marker on your Day Trail, with no coordinates or address exposed.

Name and city (optional): At signup, you may optionally provide your first name, last name, and city.

Diet and health preference data: If you use the App's diet and health features, we collect the primary goal you select (for example, build muscle, lean or deficit, keto, or maintenance), any dietary restrictions or preferences you set, and macro or calorie targets generated from your selections. We use logged meal data you've already provided to generate weekly summary insights, such as average sodium, calorie, or protein trends. If you connect Google Fit or Health Connect, we access the activity and health data you authorize through those platforms to inform your diet recommendations.

Sign in with Apple: If you sign up or log in using Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email, if you choose to hide your email) as provided by Apple.

Push notification token: If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token (provided by Expo's push service) so we can deliver notifications about activity like likes, comments, and friend requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your posts, meals, photos, comments, likes, votes, friend connections, blocks, reports, diet and health preference data, and push notification token tied to your account. This action is irreversible.
